Critical Thinking
In U of U Writing 2010, we wrote a Literacy Review and the topic I chose to do was Beauty Standards and Self-esteem. This was hard for me to write because I had to make it sound like I wasn't agreeing or disagreeing with the evidence I have found. With the research I have gathered, I had to pair up evidence from different sources rather than just having one evidence from one source at a time. The response I got back from the professor was that the tone sounded like I was agreeing and that I wanted the readers leave feeling like beauty standards are unrealistic. If I changed the tone so I sound like I wasn't agreeing, it would be fine. As I finished up writing this essay, I felt like the voice didn't change much, it felt like the tone of it was the same.
